I haven’t been to the theater much since Bella was born. It takes a lot to figure out babysitting and whether or not it is really worth it to be away from home for two hours that totally have the potential to be lame. Well, there are a few movies on my radar that I am hoping will be awesome. Some I am certain will be. Others I am only hoping. In no particular order, here they are:
The stop-motion animation in this looks amazing. And the cast is ridiculous: Clooney, Murray, Wilson, Streep, Schwartzman, etc.
Leave it to Tim Burton to take one of the trippiest kids film ever and add Johnny Depp and his classic dark flare. Should be good. Trying to do too much with the 3D might ruin the regular film though.
If you don’t remember this book from childhood, then you’re missing out. The trailer is breathtaking on it’s own. If only it wasn’t cool/anti-cool again (i.e. everything they sell at Hot Topic). I think it will stand on it’s own in spite of the pop-goth marketing as a great film though.
This movie has the potential to suck. They obviously didn’t have to try hard because the franchise already has a name for itself. And it has a Christmas release. But I loved Sherlock Holmes (Hound of The Baskervilles was my favorite), so I hope, for what it’s worth, that Guy Ritchie doesn’t ruin it.
Once again, this has the potential to suck, but I still want to see it. Because, I think it has the potential to be extremely entertaining. I think Jack White is a great musician. Sometimes though, off stage, he tries a little too hard to be a popular, less-drunk, American version of Pete Doherty. I hope the Edge really does punch him, just to see what happens.
Fantastic Mr. Fox?!?!?!?!? I love Wes Anderson movies!
totally offended that GI Joe is not on there…
@shawn you shouldn’t be. it looked ok at best. and i heard it’s already out. and i hear it sucked.
just saying.
