August is okay, but I’m really looking forward to September.  School is back in swing.  A tiny bit of normalcy returns to life as people stop vacationing and moving away.  We get settled back into a groove.  All these are good things, but here are my top 9 reasons that I can’t wait for September (the ninth month) to get here quick.  Check out the rest of the list after the break.  In no particular order:

• The Nines // A free online conference where a ton of church leaders sit down for 9 minutes to encourage and challenge other church leaders.  That’s good stuff.  And, it’s on 09.09.09 at 9:09 am.  That’s good branding or one major coincidence.
• Snow Leopard // Apple does it again.  They’re going to make my iMac and my MacBook Pro run faster.  That’s right.  Old Computers + New Software = Runs Faster.  In a windows world, it usually is Old Computers + New Software + Upgrade Hardware = Might Run Faster by SP2.  And, it’s only $29.
• Blackberry Desktop for Mac // For some reason RIM must have assumed that everyone with a Mac wants an iphone.  They’re finally coming out with software to sync my phone to my computer.  Right now, everything syncs through google, but this will be good for backups.  You can actually register for updates on their site if you happen to have a BB/Mac and you’re lookin to get your sync on.
• Weezer, Blink & TBS // Rhonda and I bought tickets for this concert at the beginning of the summer.  I haven’t seen Blink since 99 and I’ve never seen the other 2.  We’re taking a whole car full of friends.  Fun will be had.  I really can’t wait.
• Jason & Angie // Our friends are getting married.  Finally.
• New TV Seasons // The Big Bang Theory and The Amazing Race are really the only shows I watch.  They start up again on 21st and 27th respectively.  It gives me something to Tivo besides Scrubs reruns and US Soccer in Español.  GOOOOOOOOOL! Oh wait, we lost. Buzinga.
• NFL Season Starts // Really, all this means is that Fantasy Football Starts.  And I hope, but don’t count on, Miami making it to the playoffs again.
• Google Wave // This is going to change the way I work.  Online collaboration won’t be clunky with a learning curve resembling a humpback whale.  I am thouroughly optimistic.
• A Million Miles in a Thousand Years // Donald Miller’s new book.  I pre-ordered it, and it can’t get here soon enough.  I’ve already begun implementing the idea of using story to communicate points, and this book can’t get here soon enough.
