After finishing the journey through the Bible in 90 days, I wasn’t sure how to ease back and study.  But I picked up this New Testament SOLO while I was in Chico last Monday.  It is good.  It has really given me a way to engage my senses in studying scripture.  One of the days had me reading a passage as if Jesus had written me a letter, so I went to my mailslot in the front of my house, as if I had just opened the letter.  I walked back to my house reading this letter, and it really made the scripture come alive.  And on another day, I had read through the passage once, but it said that during the second time to pick one of the characters and read it as if I were part of the action, as if I were that character.  Then, talk to Jesus about what happened in that scene.  Your feelings and thoughts as the scene unfolded.  It put a whole new light on a passage that I would have thought that I wouldn’t get anything new.  If you’re looking to not just get through scripture, but get scripture through you, it is a great devotional to pick up.
