We just wrapped up our Coffee Tasting Party. Rhonda and I invited a few friends over
to taste some different roasts and blends from Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee Co. 1000 Hills is actually a non-profit company that is building sustainable living for a village in Rwanda. If you order coffee through them, you are making sure that your coffee money is supporting people that really need the income (rater than helping execs at SBux pay off their Range Rovers).
It’s a pretty simple idea. You pay $27 a month to be in the coffee club. You get 2 bags of coffee sent to your house every month. The sampler pack I bought for the coffee party was really good coffee, and it had been roasted only a few days before it showed up on my doorstep.
There are so many things that you cannot fix, but this is one thing that any coffee drinker can do to make an area of the world a little bit better, even though you’re half a world away.
